*CBSE Training for Teachers on Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Practices*

To align with the evolving academic framework and improve the effectiveness of student assessment methods, a Teacher’s Training Session on Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Practices was conducted by CBSE.The session aimed to enrich teachers’ understanding of both formative and summative assessment strategies, in line with NEP 2020 recommendations and CBSE guidelines.

Resource persons for the workshop were

Dr. Dheer Singh and Mr.Sunil Sharma.

Venue Director,Ms.Niti Dhami, in her address,emphasised on enhancing the assessment methodologies for a fair and comprehensive evaluation of the learners.

During the workshop the teachers were equipped with tools to design competency-based assessments and with use of descriptive indicators for preparing rubrics and checklists.

Group discussions on case studies to understand real classroom assessment challenges was held during the session.

The session proved highly informative and practical. Teachers gained clarity on modern assessment practices and the importance of evaluation in a holistic education system. They were encouraged to shift focus from rote learning assessments to competency-based evaluations.

Teachers appreciated the collaborative nature of the session and shared that the takeaways would help them ensure fair, transparent, and meaningful assessment in their classrooms.
